About the Author

Yoram Rubin was born and raised in Israel, the son of two emotionally scarred but resilient Holocaust survivors. He moved to the USA to complete his academic training and eventually accepted a teaching and research position at the University of California, Berkeley. Given his lifetime of up-close-and-personal experience with the complexity of inter-generational trauma, it was likely his destiny to write this book in which he puts aside his lifelong profession—environmental engineer, university professor, widely-published author of scientific books and articles, and world-class scholar—and delves into the collateral damage of two centuries of war on the Rubin family. In his free time, Yoram enjoys being with his family, stand-up comedy, almost any book about World War II, and a glass of wine, when it comes with good company.
